Turin to host The World’s 50 Best Restaurants in June 2025
The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 awards ceremony is set to take place in Turin on 19th June 2025. This marks the first time the ceremony will be hosted in Italy, with the event occurring in the historic capital of the Piedmont region, known for its rich gastronomic and cultural heritage.
The decision to hold the event in Turin underscores the city’s status as a culinary hub within Italy and the broader international community. The awards ceremony, sponsored by S. Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, will be the culmination of an extensive programme of events supported by the city and the region.
William Drew, director of content for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, expressed enthusiasm about the location: “Turin is a culinary capital in its own right and we are thrilled to be heading there, and indeed the wider region of Piedmont, for the event programme and awards ceremony to celebrate The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025. The time is ripe for 50 Best to make its debut in Italy, where a culture of food and hospitality is so intrinsic to society. We look forward to gathering the global restaurant community together in this deeply historic, epicurean and charming destination.”
Alberto Cirio, president of the Piedmont Region, highlighted the significance of the event for the area, saying “Turin and Piedmont are among the world capitals of food, and a global event such as The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 certifies this primacy. During the days of the events, the beauty of our territory and the high quality of our food and wine tradition will be at the centre of global attention, with moments dedicated to the awarding of the best restaurants in the world, but also to promoting our extraordinary land, its products and its cuisine. It represents a great opportunity for the Region to tell its story and let more and more people discover and experience the beauty of our Piedmont.”
The event will feature a series of key activities including the #50BestTalks thought-leadership forum, the 50 Best Signature Sessions series of collaborative dining events, and a Chefs’ Feast that showcases local ingredients and cooking techniques. These events aim to foster dialogue and collaboration within the global hospitality community.
In the lead-up to the main event, several special awards announcements will be made, celebrating significant achievements within the industry. The 2024 event held in Las Vegas saw Disfrutar in Barcelona named the World’s Best Restaurant, which will now join the Best of the Best list of former No.1 restaurants.
As part of its ongoing mission, 50 Best will continue to use its platform to promote diverse culinary talents and encourage gastronomic exploration through its various lists and content series. The integrity of the awards is maintained through an independent adjudication process managed by professional services consultancy Deloitte.
