NYFW – Nanette Lepore S/S 2013 collection

The Nanette Lepore S/S 2013 collection was a fun and quirky display of mixed prints and holiday leisure wear.  The front row was filled with several Hollywood heavy-weights including actors Stanley Tucci, Abigail Breslin, as well as America’s Next Top Model stylist Jay Emanuel. Lepore really stepped up the entertainment factor of the show by providing a live band, Brazilian Girls to perform. It set the mood for summertime fun!

The models, with their hair pulled back in a mussed-up, side- parted pony tail, strutted down the catwalk to the upbeat sounds of Brazilian Girls.  The overall feel of the show was casual luxury. Imagine girls on holiday somewhere tropical, and throwing on whatever is around, but looking absolutely fabulous! Mixing black and white gingham print tops with colourful printed skirts and shorts.  The season’s colour palette was a mixture of pistachio, coral, and sky blue prints with accents of black and white. We saw printed one-piece swimsuits, leather shorts, long jersey dresses, and playful prints across the board.  When the show was over, Lepore came out onto the runway with her daughter and danced to the music. Overall a fun, bright, and sexy upcoming collection!
