NYFW – Daisy Fuentes S/S 2013 collection
“A summer in the south of Spain uncovering the worlds of Pablo Picasso, Diego Velazquez, and George Bizet’s Carmen. A fantasy nestled away in Andalusia at the southernmost point of the peninsula, steeped in the quaint nuance of Southern Europe as it is in the richness of Northern Africa. A meeting point between two worlds, it is both cosmopolitan and provincial. And it is here where inspiration finds its most essential muse: The Gyspy.” That is the inspiration for the upcoming Daisy Fuentes spring collection designed exclusively for American department store Kohls.
The line was both contemporary and classic. Beautiful printed scarves were unconventionally accessorised, used as a head wrap, or tied around the waist of a blazer. Floor length maxi dresses, folk-inspired embroidered shirts, and asymmetrical hems reigned supreme. The overall mood of the collection was delicate yet sensual, seductive yet highly sophisticated. “It is the ideal summer wardrobe for the woman who relishes in Old World romance as well as her own modern point-of-view.”- Daisy Fuentes
The collection at Kohl’s is affordably priced, perfect for the woman on a budget who wants to look like she just jumped off a yacht at St Tropez; this is the perfect line for you. Although Kohl’s doesn’t ship international just yet, the American department store looks to expand in the future.
