Manchester United 3-2 Braga: great comeback with a Hernández double at Old Trafford
Alan scored twice during 20 minutes, but Javier Hernández scored first then Jonny Evans equalised the score and finally Hernández headed again.
The match started as a nightmare for Manchester United when Alan jumped the highest after a cross by Viana and headed the ball into the right corner of the net. It got worse after the Brazilian mid-fielder doubled the lead, scoring his second goal of the match. On the right side, Éder dribbled Carrick, then put the ball in the centre, and the arriving Alan had a critical finish between Evans and Büttner.
The Red Devils switched into a higher gear and five minutes later, Hernández brought the hope back to win. After a foul against Van Persie, Kagawa swung the ball in, which was headed into Beto’s net by the Mexican forward. The home team kept attacking, but the score did not change in the first half.
At half time, Sir Alex Ferguson could fire up his team because in the second half they were making dangerous attacks. The result was equalising under lucky circumstances. After a corner, Evans could not kick the ball in the first time, but he had the chance to repeat and he did not miss it again.
In the 75th minute, the home team had the lead when Cleverly had a big cross from the right side and Hernández headed again, into the right corner of the net.
Manchester United beat Braga and with this victory they have nine points after three matches. The next challenge will be the match against Chelsea visiting Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
