Adele rumoured to be US Vogue’s Cover Girl
There’s no denying that Adele’s rise to fame has been astronomical both sides of the pond, her talent alongside her grounded nature have made her hugely successful.
With this in mind, it’s hardly surprising that the songstress is reportedly set to feature on the cover of Vogue, this spring. The 23-year-old star has already graced the front of the UK edition, but the American magazine is by far the most coveted of covers. Not only this, the March edition is one of the most important (alongside September) as it will feature the key trends for the upcoming season and will be full of costly ads.
Looking at the 2011 cover girls (Natalie Portman, Emma Watson and Kate Moss) Adele breaks the run of size 6/8 models and reports are circulating that carefully selected designers have been asked to create custom made outfits for the size 14 star, a rarity for most other cover celebs.
As with any gossip in the fashion world, the rumour mill is dishing out some extras. Fellow Grammy winner Taylor Swift is supposedly also in the running for the 2012 cover. The decision will be that of Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour who was seen sitting alongside Swift at the Rodarte Spring 2012 fashion show. With the industry embracing more real women in campaigns, ads and cover shoots, it may be a move that quells the on-going controversy surrounding size 0 models.
Adele has only recently been released from Massachusetts General Hospital after a procedure that helped repair her damaged vocal chords. Much like Cheryl Cole’s disappearance from the celebrity world this year, fans are eagerly awaiting more appearances from the young star. Vogue may prove to be the perfect platform of which to emerge after a few months away from the limelight. It has also been reported that Adele may be leaving her home city of London in the hope of saving her throat from the pollution. Fingers crossed we don’t lose her to the US.
