LFW – Eugene Lin A/W 2013 collection
Freemason’s Hall was lucky enough to showcase Eugene Lin’s AW13 collection on Monday afternoon. What the display brought with it was a powerful and meaningful line for the next season.
Titled Cupid De Locke, the collection was a sequel to his previous collection The Judgement of Paris. Making links to Paris and the fall of Troy, the collection is modern, gothic and deep. Trying to interpret a contrast between violence and romance, the collection features blacks, reds and beiges creating a reprehensive palette of colour.
The brutality of Lin’s story is conveyed through studding and screen-printed sequin designs that created a bullet style effect. Macintosh coats were key throughout, and included a boob tube representing a similar structure. Shattered glass style prints also featured on many of the pieces, and were even included in the shoe designs for a whole outfit.
Lin appeared at the end of the show to a host of praise and applause, wearing one of his very own designs.
