BRIT Awards 2013: Emeli Sandé and Ben Howard score top accolades
Another year of all things British is revealing itself. After last year’s release of the latest in the Bond franchise, Skyfall, it’s the music industry’s turn to show the world what Britain can do. Bringing a swarm of A-List celebrities from all over the world, London is the home to the BRIT Awards 2013.
Scooping up multiple awards, Ben Howard undoubtedly left satisfied after a well received performance and mass support from fans and the industry – although most people still aren’t sure who he is exactly.
Emeli Sandé, Britain’s secret weapon, collected several awards and produced a brilliant closing performance with her number one single Next to Me. Robbie William’s proved he’s past his best with a quite average performance whereas Coldplay rightfully scored best live act with their magnificent Mylo Xyloto tour.
This year’s ceremony passed off smoothly. Although rather dull, everyone made it through without any drunken slurs, social faux pas or “wardrobe malfunctions”. Hopefully next year we’ll see some fresh sparks and perhaps Plan B will pick up the awards he deserves.
